PROGRAM DETAILS

We’re not just committed to providing excellent care for our clients, we want to see our employees grow. Livity’s residency program provides advanced training to professionals post-graduate school. Participants will receive intensive training in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Radically Open DBT, the effective treatment of eating disorders, and the business of private practice. The development of each employee as a therapist is an integral component of our residency program. Upon completion of our program, each participant will have the necessary skills to succeed in their own private practice. Imagine condensing ten years of private practice experience down into two years of guided lessons and oversight while working with an intriguing client base. …and the best part? This isn’t an internship; you get paid, and we offer competitive hourly rates.

ABOUT THE POSITIONS

These are full-time positions, and we offer a total of three per year. Currently, our 2023 positions have all been filled, but we will be offering three new positions in August, 2024. Our program runs a total of two years and is geared toward providing all the supervision hours necessary to obtain your independent license. Already have an independent license? No problem; we’d still love to have you go through our program, and we provide compensation incentives based on experience. Activities include:

FIRST YEAR:

  • See approximately 21 clients per week.
  • Co-lead a weekly DBT Skills Group with a senior therapist.
  • Participate in a weekly “training day”; didactic and experiential.
  • Receive supervision appropriate to license.
  • Participate in consultation and staff meetings.

SECOND YEAR

  • See approximately 26 clients per week.
  • Co-lead a weekly DBT Skills Group with a senior therapist.
  • Receive supervision appropriate to license.
  • Participate in consultation and staff meetings.

BENEFITS AND PERKS

  • Health plan option: Enroll in our health plan that provides coverage for medical, dental, and vision insurance.
  • Retirement plan option: Save for the future with our pre-tax 401k plan.
  • Respect for work/life balance: Create a work schedule that fits your needs; we’re flexible. Additionally, we encourage you to take 4 weeks off per year, and the residency program is structured with that in mind. Work/life balance is just as important as meeting the hourly requirement for your independent license.
  • Remote work flexibility: Work from home or from our office.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Eligible candidates will have an Associates License (APCC, AMFT, ASW) or an Independent License (LPCC, LMFT, LCSW) to practice in the State of California.
  • If you don’t yet have your Associates License, but you know that you’ll receive it by August 2024, you may also apply.
  • The training day and the co-lead DBT skills group will take place in person at headquarters in El Dorado Hills.
