INDIVIDUAL THERAPY

Individual therapy is a process through which clients work one-on-one with a trained therapist to explore the function of their eating disorder and/or destructive behaviors. Throughout treatment a person can expect to gain insight about themselves as well as learn effective ways of managing urges, emotion and thoughts. Individual therapy is a collaborative process in which different treatment modalities will be used; this will all be tailored to meet the needs of each person. Treatment approaches include Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Contextual Therapy, and process oriented modalities. The ultimate goal of individual therapy is to support each individual in living a more valued and meaningful life.
